Bread Sticks

INGREDIENTS

__Dough_
2 Tbsp Yeast
1/2 Cup Warm Water
1 3/4 Cup HOT TAP Water
7-7 1/2 Cups Flour
3 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
1 Tbsp Salt
2 Tbsp Butter Flavored Shortening

Garlic Sauce
1 Stick Butter
2 Tbsp Dried Parsley
1 Tbsp Garlic Salt

Pre-grated Parmesan Cheese

METHOD
1. Preheat the oven to 400F.
2. Add the Yeast to the 1/2 Cup warm water in a large mixing bowl or Kitchen Aid. Let sit until yeast bubbles (2-5 Minutes).
3. In this order, add Salt, Sugar, Shortening, and half of the flour.
4. Add the 1 3/4 Cup HOT Water and mix until blended.
5. While blending, slowly add remaining flour until the dough is slightly sticky ands springy, but not wet or stiff.
6. Put all of the “Garlic Sauce” ingredients together in a small pot and place it on low heat to melt, but not boil.
7. Roll out into sticks the length of the short side of a cookie sheet. Lay them right next to each other on an un-greased cookie sheet.
8. Once the “Garlic Sauce” is melted, mix it well with a pastry brush and brush it on the breadsticks, thoroughly covering them.
9. Cover thoroughly with a generous amount of the Pre-Grated Parmesan Cheese.
10. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
