Loco Moco
INGREDIENTS
2 lb Ground Beef
4 medium Garlic Cloves, pressed or minced
3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp Kosher Salt or 1 tsp regular salt
1 tsp Fresh Ground Pepper
2 Cups Rice
2 Pkgs Brown Gravy Mix
Eggs
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
Salt and Pepper
5 Chopped Scallions for garnish
METHOD
1. Get the Rice going in a rice cooker.
2. Chop the Green Onions and set aside in a small bowl.
3. Prepare the Brown Gravy according to the package directions. Season with Salt and Pepper to taste. Set aside and cover when ready.
4. While the Gravy and Rice are cooking, add the Garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Salt, and Pepper to the ground beef. Mix thoroughly.
5. Form the ground meat into 6-8 equal balls, then squash to about 1/4"-1/2" thick, making sure they aren't thicker in the middle.
6. Heat the oil in a non stick pan over medium heat.
7. When the oil is heated up, add the patties. Season with Salt and Pepper.
8. Cook the patties until they start to brown, 3-5 minutes, then flip over and cook another 3-5 minutes.
9. When all burgers are done, remove from heat to a plate and cover with another plate or foil to keep warm.
10. Remove all fat/oil from the pan with a paper towel and tongs, or use a new pan to cook the eggs.
11. Spray the non-stick pan with cooking spray and cook 1 egg to your liking (over easy, fried, scrambled, etc) per patty.
Assembly
1. Place some rice in a bowl.
2. Place a patty on top of the rice.
3. Place the egg on top of the patty.
4. Top with a ladle-full of Gravy.
5. Garnish with Green Onions and season with Salt and Pepper.
