Seven Layer Dip

INGREDIENTS
1 can Refried Beans
1 can Black Beans
2 Tbsp Vegetable or Olive Oil
1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
1 packet Taco Seasoning
Salsa
Sour Cream
Shredded Colby Jack Cheese
Sliced Black Olives (Optional)
Sliced or diced Pickled JalapeƱos (Optional)


METHOD

Prep
1. Start heating the refried beans over medium low to low heat, stirring often. Remove from heat when warmed.
2. Start reheating the black beans over medium heat, stirring often. Remove from heat when warm.
3. While beans warm, put a couple tablespoons of oil in a skillet.
4. Brown the ground meat in the oil making sure to break it up thoroughly.
5. When meat is cooked through, add the taco seasoning and cook per package instructions.

_Layering_
1. In a 9x13" pan, spread a layer of reheated refried beans.
2. Then a layer of Taco Meat
3. Then a layer of Black Beans
4. Then a layer of Salsa
5. Then a layer of Sour Cream
6. Then a layer of shredded Colby Jack Cheese
7. Then top with some Olives/JalapeƱos (optional)

VARIATIONS
- Honestly, you can layer anything here. Replace the ground beef with shredded chicken, or diced carne asada.
- You can do a layer of Guacamole but the flavor tends to get lost.

VEGETARIAN
Just leave out the taco meat layer, or use plant based ground meat.
